Exercise Ball as Chair

Today, I'm using my exercise ball as my chair at work. It's noon and I already feel it in my abs. We will see if I can make it the whole workday on the ball; if not, I can just push it longer tomorrow and build to make it an everyday/all day activity.

Tonight, it's treadmill night. I will push tonight for a 45 minute walk.

The List - Part 1

I've decided to start a list of things I look forward to doing when I'm thin. I'll add to this list (and bump it up when I do) as more things come to mind.

  1. Going to any store and finding clothing I can purchase. In larger sizes one must shop at special stores or online.
  2. Not worrying about chairs when I'm in unfamiliar places. There is a fear that they won't hold the weight and break.
  3. Riding roller coasters again.
  4. Wearing a bathing suit and being comfortable in it.
  5. Buying bras and panties at Victoria's Secret (and even the cheapo stuff at Target).
  6. Deciding on clothing that are my style, rather than fat stores deciding what style I must wear.
  7. Going to an amusement park and not feeling like I'm going to die just trying to walk out at the end of the day.
  8. Using arm rests. Being a larger person, my weight gets in the way of using an arm rest in an office chair or in a vehicle.
  9. Flying without having to ask for the piece of seat belt they use for the emergency demonstration since the regular belt doesn't fit.
  10. Going to a gym to workout.
  11. Walking into daycare or my child's schools without other children talking about my weight.
  12. Going for a massage. Since it is an activity that requires towels and undressing, I've never been brave enough to go but would love to have a massage.
  13. Going to the salon and not feeling guilty for the stylist having to push my weight around in the chair.
  14. The lack of anxiety when I walk into a room of unfamiliar people. The first day of classes is always a bear just because I must meet new people.
  15. Walking into a restaurant or a crowded room and not having to scout out my path to make it through chairs that are close together or groups of people.
  16. Sitting in a booth without my belly touching the underside of the table.

Update - Weight, Measurements, Exercise, The Whole Nine

Well it's been a little while since I have posted but I'm doing great. Last week at weigh in I hit my second five pounds - for a grand total of 10 pounds lost. It was a great feeling to lose 10 pounds in two weeks! Yeah!

This week I had one huge accomplishment with one tiny set back. Good news first . . .

I lost another 11.5 inches! Yes, 11.5 inches making my grand total of inches lost 24.5! I find that little fact to be absolutely amazing. Two feet of fat is gone off my entire body. What a fantastic feeling.

My clothes are baggy, I have more energy, I really feel fantastic. Just a few days ago I noticed some definition to my arm, two small bumps. That's something that hasn't been there for like, well, EVER! LOL

My small set back is that the scale showed a .4lb gain. Yes POINT four pounds. I said it was tiny - like yeah - less than half a pound. So, I'm not worried about it. I know I'm eating right, I'm exercising and this isn't a sprint - I'm in this for the long haul. I'm quite sure I'll see the scale dip lower after this week.

Keep Moving!

I did the most amazing thing last night. It's something I haven't done in years, if ever. After I was finished, I felt fantastic. It was a sense of accomplishment, pride and well . . . amazement!

What was this unbelievable thing you ask?

I jogged! I jogged for a while - yeah, like 30 minutes of jogging on my treadmill.

Believe it or not, it felt wonderful and more comfortable than walking.

I am now an absolute believer and jogging is now my exercise of choice. I know each time I do it, I will be able to do a little more, go a little faster, have a higher incline. Working muscles really is wondrous thing - every time you do it, it makes a slight difference.

Knowing how the body works and burns energy helps so much. Over the last year I've learned, in detail, the science behind how we fuel our bodies and how our bodies use (and store) that fuel. I cannot even begin to express how much this has helped me visualize what is happening with my body right now.

Here's to another fantastic day!!

Week 1 - Weigh In

I've been on Weight Watchers for one week. Today was weigh in day. I lost 7.6 pounds and 6.5 inches! Yeah!

Tonight, after a delicious dinner of Lean Grilled Pork Chops, Sweet Potatoes and Green Beans I did my first Flexibility and Balance Workout. I made it the full 20 minutes and surprised myself with the ability to do most of the moves. Best of all, I felt absolutely amazing after I was finished.

Here's to another great week!
